Welcome to
With RenewalWorks centered around the spiritual vitality of an individual congregation, My Way of Love: powered by RenewalWorks was created as a tool for individuals. It works by assessing the current state of an individual’s spiritual journey and then providing customized weekly tools, exercises, and questions meant to deepen a person’s love of God and neighbor. Simply, My Way of Love: Powered by RenewalWorks has been compared to a spiritual “Fitbit.”
Once your responses have been processed, we’ll email a helpful explanation of our findings, along with some tips for improving your spiritual journey. You’ll also be given a chance to sign up for an eight-week series of emails that will offer some suggestions, coaching for how you can grow spiritually, and ways you can go deeper in love of God and neighbor.
Looking to learn more about My Way of Love? Check out the video below from Leading Forward, featuring the Rev. Canon Scott Gunn and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. You can also see our presentation at the 2021 FORMA conference, in which Jerusalem Greer and Jay Sidebotham discuss this important offering.
How does the Spiritual Life Inventory work?
The Spiritual Life Inventory is a series of confidential, challenging and thought-provoking questions and is based on the most comprehensive and statistically valid data from RenewalWorks, which works with full congregations to help them refocus on spirituality and discipleship.
We designed My Way of Love so it doesn’t overreach—no need to worry about your privacy and us going too far on such a personal topic. Using baseline data from hundreds of churches and thousands of Christians who have worked with RenewalWorks, your responses to a few simple questions will help the system identify broad characteristics of your spiritual life, and then assign you a plan of action.
After reading your initial results, you can go further by signing up for eight weeks of customized emails with tips, reminders and suggestions for daily spiritual practices. Following a four-part routine (Warm Up – Practice – Coach’s Tip – Stretch), these weekly emails support your unique spiritual journey and provide just the right suggestions for you to grow. My Way of Love is free, a gift from Forward Movement and The Episcopal Church, offered in the confidence that as individual Christians grow in spiritual health, our congregations and dioceses will also be healthier—spiritually speaking.
Now Available: My Way of Love for Small Groups: A Companion Resources for the My Way of Love Spiritual Life Inventory
My Way of Love for Small Groups is intended for participants who wish to receive some guidance about ways to grow spiritually—deepening our love of God and neighbor. You and your group or congregation can begin using this resource and meeting together at any time, either in person or virtually. Each group member will receive regular emails focused on the keywords that make up the Way of Love, and then share with each other how and where the journey is moving your community and your hearts along the way.
Participating in My Way of Love for Small Groups is a great community builder, and especially appropriate for smaller congregations. We believe you’ll find it to be a great process for a vestry study, undergirding confirmation classes, or informing a teaching series in youth group, or as part of a standard Bible study or prayer group. Additionally, you could use it as a generator, breathing new life to a stressed-out committee or offering some spiritual hospitality to your church or school staff.

Using My Way of Love as a Leadership Tool
Recently, groups have asked us to compile summary data from the individuals who participated in My Way of Love. This data can provide leaders and clergy with a measure of the group’s focus on discipleship, the health of their spiritual journeys, and how they are growing.
RenewalWorks has created a template report which gives summary information on the overall spiritual maturity of the participants as well as their beliefs, spiritual practices, and how they put their faith in action in the community. It can be helpful in planning for future spiritual formation focus.
If you are interested in having this type of reporting around your group’s participation, please contact RenewalWorks directly at info@renewalworks.org.
